1/30/2013: GREAT NEWS - THE HUNTE CORPORATION IS NO LONGER WELCOME IN BURBANK!
"The City Council just voted to approve our ordinance to prohibit the retail sale of dogs and cats in pet stores, with NO exemptions for existing pet stores! It won't be official until the ordinance is rewritten with the amendments we requested and approved on 2nd reading, but this was the big hurdle to get over. A huge thank you to all if the incredibly dedicated and tireless folks who have been so supportive over the past year to help make this happen. It's a very good day for Burbank."

10/17/2012: a step in the right direction but the fight is not over yet.
On Tuesday, Oct. 16th, The Burbank City Council voted to draft an ordinance to prohibit the sale of commercially bred animals FOR FUTURE pet stores but there is still work to be done to convince them that Peggy Woods Pet Emporium, (the only puppy-mill supplied pet stores that still exists in Burbank) NEEDS TO BE REGULATED!
Burbank C.R.O.P.S. presented the City Council with a lengthy power point presentation showing evidence that Peggy Woods indeed obtains their puppies from "mills" with countless U.S.D.A. violations. Here are a few from our findings: 1.) "No adequate wind and rain breaks to protect dogs…. “ 2.) "Feces and spilled feed are on floor surface & puppies legs & feet are soiled as well." 3.) "Pens with small pups do not have required solid surface for pups to be on until they can walk on wire without their feet falling through..."
